THESE SICK WHITE CHRISTIANS ARE NOT GODLY...THEY CREATED GOD IN THEIR OWN IMAGE. GOD CREATED PEOPLE IN GOD'S IMAGE. NOT WHITE MAN CREATING GOD IN HIS IMAGE.. THE PICTURE OF YESHUA(which people call him jesus) IS A FRAUD, THE PIC IS A FRAUD.THESE CHRISTIANS CHANGED YHWH(YAWEH'S) NAME AND CHANGED YESHUA'S NAME AND LOOKS. WHITEMAN, YOU CAN FOOL ME

don't go to africa. Africa is the worst continent to live in. Most dangerous diseases; most violent weather, most violent people and darkest people. I will leave it just there.

September 21, 2008Professionally speaking it is best for europeans of all castes and especially those spreading a white Christ (Latin man in an African land...hummm?) Religion should stay away from Africa. In terms of Human Ecology this is very destructive toward African solidarity and much more. Integration or exploration may be pursued when a fragmented and disrupted society is made whole again.

[Continued...]The way Africans have been disturbed by europeans its no wonder aliens steer clear of this planet. Its not that europeans are badyou just dont play well with others!Scripture is as god as grass!White folks you like to preserve endangered species right? How about we preserve the authentic & sacred culture, religion, language, and "economics" of non-europeans all over the earth.IMPROVE YOUR TRUTH -I have a fear

Also, one of their biggest goals is the spread of literacy, something that is a wonderful thing even if you disagree with the ideology behind it. They don't just teach people to read, they teach people to TEACH. Just for the record, SIL, the umbrella organization for Wycliffe, is well-regarded and respected in the academic community. If they were a "joke," as you say, surely that would not be the case.

By your tone, it seems that it doesn't really matter what I say, you're determined to disagree with what they're doing. But just to be clear, not everyone they recruit becomes a translator, and they learn their Greek and Hebrew in those "partner programs" that you are so scornful of- and one of the schools is Dallas Theological Seminary, a world-class, incredibly well-respected university.

Oh, since you seem to be so well informed. Would you mind telling me why they don't mention Greek and Hebrew on their official webspace, why they recruit everyone willing to help, and why they "train" them in some "academic partner programs"? You know serious translators study those languages for half their lives until they dare translate a single word of the scriptures, so this is just a joke. Besides, validating the culture? You gotta be kidding.
Sdaub09 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
Wow, you should really do some research before you go around saying things like that. Those translators certainly do NOT translate from the English translations, for one thing. They are trained in Greek and Hebrew. For another thing, it's not about destroying anything- one of the purposes of translation is VALIDATING the culture (they're working with minority people and languages) and partnering with the people who live there. Get some better information before passing judgment.
hq79 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
This is quite saddening, indeed. For one, those translators don't translate the scriptures from the historical hebrew and greek texts. They take the faulty English translation and make things worse. Secondly, it's a real pity to come home and see how narrow minded and aggressive those newly religious Ghanaians have become. This is all part of destroying a people's history, culture and beliefs by forcing something on them that arrogant Westerners believe to be better and of higher value.
