You give as an example a Soviet built nuclear power plant built 30 years ago, not a modern one. Plus one accident doesn't negate the hundreds of other plants around the world that are doing fine. Nuclear power is remarkably safe and creates much less waste and environmental impact than the alternatives of coal power and hydro electric dams, and its cheaper and more efficient than solar power and wind turbine fields (at least for now). Don't believe me, honestly check the facts for yourself.

I can't believe both Palin and McCain have no idea what causes Global Warming.
Nocturne06 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
Yeah, nuclear power is VERY safe, have we forgotten about Chernobyl? The effects are still there today, you can't even go near within a 20 mile radius of that township due to the radioactivity. I was in Hamburg with my Physics class back in 1999, we saw the nuclear facilities there, looks safe on the outside, scared the hell out of me on the inside! But we, as Europeans you and I, agree on one thing - and that's that Obama could be the best president in the history of the U.S, so lets pray bro!
