Hands down I recommend the Fujitsu Scansnap S510over Chris' recommendation. I can't remember better spent money in the last 5 years. Search Youtube for "Scansnap" and click the first result.

From what I can tell pdf converter can't even scan files. You still have to use your traditional scanning software and then print to a pdf. Primo PDF will do that for free. Only thing I found it useful for was scanning 4 pages to jpg, and then it took all 4 jpgs and make a 4 page pdf.

Another good option is to use the Sun's StarOffice 8, with Draw you can easily export your scan to pdf. Your video was very helpful though.

only problem, I unemployed, lost job due to failing eyesight, so I going to school for Bachelors in data communications, Zoomtext or Beryl for linux works for puter, but CCTV's are expensive, so this sound like better way, if can find a cheap scanner with software

am legally Blind, and can't see stuff on paper, normally I use zoomtext from aisquared to see the computer with, but documents always problem since CCTV bulky not always available, so this sound like great solution to try for school. thanks
