judy and mary had a mainstream sound but were not mainstream, very good description, except i think its the other way around - non-mainstream sound, but in the mainstream, either way, they are one confusing ass band, and to this day, I still dont know why they broke up , they were too good

Maybe the guitarist's blonde hair is a clue to why they broke up. Maybe he felt that Yuki was selling out. Judy And Mary had a maintream sound, but were not mainstream. Yuki going solo was "mainstream". But at that point, she was married and had a child to support. So can you blame her?
