This has been CONFIRMED in Dr. Szostak's LAB!!It's been 55 years since the Miller-Urey Experiment, and science has made enormous progress on solving the origin of life. This video summarizes one of the best leading models. Yes there are others. Science may never know exactly how life DID start, but we will know many ways how life COULD start. Don't be fooled by creationist arguments as even a minimal understanding of biology and chemistry is enough to realize they have no clue what they are talking about.Note on how competition works. Water will flow across a membrane to try to equalize the ion concentration. If there is a lot of polymer in a vesicle it will be surrounded by many ions, thus causing water to flow into the vesicle, increasing the internal pressure and stretching the membrane. Fatty acids are in equilibrium between the vesicle and solution. If 2 vesicles are near one another they will gradually swap fatty acids. If one membrane is under tension, the fatty acid "on rate" will be greater than the "off rate" (move to a lower energy state by relaxing the pressure). It will suck up fatty acids from solution. The other vesicle will still give them off, but they will disappear (sucked up by neighbor) and not return. Therefore, the vesicle with high internal pressure will grow and the neighbor will shrink. okay, finger slipped. I would be happy to beleive in god kirk, but extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Instead of insulting me every time i pose you with a challenge? Even if i was dishonest and a liar, you providning redible evidence would probably convert others and do wonders to discredit your claims. So why dont you do it? It seems like you know you wont get an answer, so instead you rely to personal attacks. Attacking me does not affect the validity of my arguments.

@Kirk--"No he won't because he is a dishonest person. He hasn't got an honest bone in his body"--Okay Kirk, this is what bothers me, you make all these claims you claim to be factual, and then when i ask you to support it you bitch at me and insult me. Okay Kirk, I am going to be honest, I would be happy

Which one's do?

« No he won't because he is a dishonest person. »I don't think people get a choice in believing. You believe what you think is true, whether you want to or not. You're right; somebody may not admit to believing some or other thing, but he'd believe it nonetheless, if he was convinced it was true.

do it in a study. If the results show that "you can work miracles, ESPECIALLY when invoked by prayer, and it didnt happen to atheists or non-prayers, i would become a believer and would convert back to theism. More so if it was religion specific."No he won't because he is a dishonest person. He hasn't got an honest bone in his body.

It really all comes down to where life came from. there are plenty of guesses but no one knows for sure. what we have come to find out in the last few years is that we are in no way alone. there are lots of other worlds. probably lots of other universes. we also know our evolution is irrelevant in the face of moores law, which states plainly that we will create god in this century. to think we are the ones is lunacy.

@Kirk--"X-man: Because of the power of it. I/we have seen the miracles, the healings, and countless answers to prayer. We have seen the promises and found them to be true. We aren't alone. There are those who are like us all over the globe."--do it in a study. If the results show that you can work miracles, ESPECIALLY when invoked by prayer, and it didnt happen to atheists or non-prayers, i would become a believer and would convert back to theism. More so if it was religion specific.

@Kirk--"And some people see the real deal."--Which would be evolution. Im sorry kirk, but simply claiming you are right dosent make it so. Neo Nazis say that about the holocaust never happening, Area 51 conspirators do that with absurd claims, and the flat earth society does that with the idea of a flat earth society (less so, the flat earth society does not try to lobby their beliefs into school or be jerks to non-believers)
boonw (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
Sorry about that, finger slipped. See directly below for kirks quotation. --So Kirk, what you are arguing is that in short periods of time we can gain small changes. you must then agree that during long periods of time we can gain large changes. To argue otherwise is to say "I think its possible to deposit a paycheck, but to make a life savings is impossible", or "I think its possible to grow your hair a mm, but to grow it down to your shoulders would be impossible". You just got pwned kirk.
boonw (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
@Kirk--"What we see are small changes within the kind: bacteria changes but is still bacteria in the end of things. Drosophila's are still drosophila's, butterfiles are still butterflies, etc. etc. etc. etc. |
