I hate all these car magazine company. They make high high profile on the new challengers such a g37 in this case, and they crown g37 over bmw. But after couple months, they restate that Bmw is still the king of the hill. I'm like..wth. Be more consistent. Don't get excited just because the new comers. Be more consistent and look deeper into the cars and comparison between making a statement. it's frustrating.

i forgot to mention the most important part of all. i have driven both of these and you cant really tell the difference on which handles better besides knowing it from paper stats. i guess thats something you need to test at a track. both of them managed to do great donuts! i think the g37 had scented wheels or something because the smell was great unlike the bmw which was regular burning rubber

its also harder for the US to make an equally similar car as a japan because we have higher pay rates, which means japan can spend a little more on bettering their quality. i think if we want to surpass the Japanese cars we need to completely blow them away, not just make something equal to their quality/handling/comfort/etc. the retirement/health benefits is imo to high for them. i have a neighbor who put her friends and family on her ford health care plan! how is that fair to us?!?!??!

yeah time will tell. if you remember back then a long time ago...ford and gm were the among the most reliable cars on the road and japan made crappy cars compared to us. but then they got a guy named Edward Deming who changed the Japanese car quality to the point that they went from worst to best. thats what we need! a guy who can come in and change quality control segments in our top 2(screw chrysler, their doomed) and bring us back up. we also need to get rid of lutznutz!

Lol...(at a club). One of the major problems with the american car companies is that they still pay retirement salaries and health insurance for thousands of retired employees. Because of this, their cost of business is way up and they are having a harder time competing price-wise with the Germans and Japanese. American cars are improving in quality though...time will tell.I also love both the G and 335i, but I prefer the 335i. It's got a small performance edge and is easier to mod.

NOW TO GET BACK ON TOPIC!I like both the 335i and the G37S. i would be happy with either one! one has slightly better handling, the other has better looks and feel. if i had to pick from one, i would pick the cheapest one of the 2 and spend the leftover money at a club!

I honestly cant see how the american brands will live through this. unless they cut their prices, how will they make a sale when they aren't even offering better interest rates with toyota or anyone else. only their crappy cars offer 0% interest, everything else is between 2.9-higher. my local toyota has 0.0% on all their cars besides the FJ and Highlander hybrid. gm has stopped everything on new production models that i think could help them. I cant believe GM wants to merge with chrysler!

Yeah i agree. but still, vw's profits are blowing through the roofs since porsche increased their shares in vw to 75%. i think their shares went up by like 80% almost if i'm correct. thats a huge profit for everyone. thats in a markets where share prices of car companies are dropping. BMW is slowing production, i don't think they would do that if they are really making that much money(correct me if i'm wrong), its even happening with toyota. I think american car companies have a bigger problem!

idrinorbarsaku...BMW had record profits in 2007 and while profits are DOWN so far in 2008, they are still making a profit. You're right that profits and sales are down globally, but there are still companies making money. My point with oyapon was that most american car companies are in the red and have been for several years. |
