Oh yes. I remember those days when 8-bit consoles had to completely darken the screen in order for it to handle a moving large boss.Another example of an SMS game that made such a sacrifice was Time Soldiers.Heh heh; I still have my copy of that title. :)

I hate it when people call R-Type a rip off of Gradius/Nemises /Salamander. R-Type in its own right is a legend among video games !
