If you don't believe me you can try meeting surviving european jews born earlier than 1930, or read the books of Isaac B Singer which give a pretty good picture of the differences between pre-holocaust jews of different backgrounds and how totally different their entire identity, mentality and self image as well as how they viewed the world around them was compared to western jews today.Judaism and the "yiddish culture" has become a raped franchise with bad sit-coms and zionist comedians.

He was of the old, almost extinct culture of jews. Their grandchildren in the US are not the same no matter how much they want to believe that themselves.Todays jews are ignorant, proud, arrogant and misguided and misinterpret their own tradition. Secular as well as religious, zionist, anti-zionist etc.The jewish identity was severely damaged by the holocaust. Even with the pogroms and ghettos, jews back then were real jews. Todays jews are actors who play the part of jews.

perhaps the ease with which one can identify an artist in as little as a few bars of music is a measure of that artist's greatness. Case and point in this instance - I can always pick Hassid out of crowd. He is so unique and identifiable.

Personally I am proud of ANY violinist of ANY nationality that can play this well. This person has the right to be proud of of a Jewish telephone pole if he would like..no one has the right to say who they should be proud of...music has no nationality, race or gender.

he was jewish, and at that time polish people hated jews very much.you have no right of being proud of successful jewish poles.

His violin had a true voice. It's very moving to hear it thanks to the recording...
