Well this song is certainly not racist. If he says, at the beginning, that he isn't black but white, it's simply because blues (and jazz) used to be afro-american music, and what he says is actually that although he isn't black, he fells like singing blues anyway, because "life isn't very fun, whether you write it white on black or black on white."

This song is a tribute to amstrong.but the lyrics are hard to understand and can easily be misunderstood as something racist.But it's not, definitively not :)
