This song was a staple of the civil rights movement, Mahalia worked closely with Dr. Martin Luther King. She also sang Precious Lord at his funeral in 1968

i love this song...I hope this country will overcome it's racial bigotry..both White and Black. Maybe electing Barack Obama is a step in that direction.
