This works better in Argentine milongas where people are often literally shoulder-to-shoulder. Then they use the caminada when the floor opens up.

Missing mention the Finnish tango, dear ! To me, tango is a just a extension of Argentina abroad. Afterward each nation makes it is own with his nationnal personnality, dances adapting to its national skills and abilities... To sum it up, each country makes it his own ! But at the very biginning Tango is from Argentina, isn't it ?! The point is : Who grows who ?....

:) I dance IDSF tango the standard techniques european. Really dont like the argentinian tango as a technique of a dance :)how they have theyr heads together :) like narrow tower in PIZZA :), what ever it is dance I accept it and more I accept to wimin that are danceing it :) how they move with the special argentinian tango skirts and long legs :). Keep on doing it.
