Unlucky actually, the Pentium 4 sucked BAD! A G5 is better than a P4.
LAG09 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
Both the PS3 have a significantly different kind of architecture than the G5, infact the Cell doesn't even have the same architecure (as the G5). The XBox 360 CPU is something of a G6 as it has quite sifnificantly different architecture than the G5 (it amongst others doesn't have the heat propblems of the G5).The fact, that when Apple swiched from PowerPC to Intel's X86 CPUs IBM had been quite significantly behind AMD and Intel in performance, cannot be denied.

this isn't true! ps3 and xbox 360 use powerpc architecture, the xbox has a 3 cose powerpc g5! it's just because intel became a standard
LAG09 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
It's sad to see how far IBM was left behind in CPU development before apple quit using their CPU's, but unfortunetly Apple was forced to swich to intel. The G5 caused too much heat and had to have so much that it was just simply impossible to use it for laptops, and the G4 was just simply OLD and, well, badly behind Intel and AMD.So in the nénd we can't really blame anybody for the death of the PowerPC chipse, other than IBM who just simply fell behind and forced Apple to swich...

:( . I love my powerbook g4.... It won't be a full death until nothing supports it. I.E. OS, software, ETC.
applerulez67 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
God, sigh... :'-( sigh... poor PowerPC... i loved it so much... nff... i couldnt live without my g5 quad... sigh... :(...POWERPC DIDN'T DESERVE THAT STEVE! POWERPC DIDN'T DESERVE THAT!I'm gonna cry even worse when OS X 10.6 will kill PowerPC and i'm gonna cry my heart out as another OS will kill OS X.R.I.P. PowerPC 1994-2006....oh, i like Intel after all... think about the future and snow leopard. :D :D :D

Yep thats right, I saw one on ebay a while back, IF ANYONE has one of these in any country i want to buy it :-P i'm seriously after one. I heard they were running 10.4.3 and 10.4.4 and were recalled by apple before the release of the intel machines in 06 and they were only released as test machines. Whoever still has one your very lucky!

edit: the 1st mac-intel uses powermac g5 casing with p4 600 processor on it, that p4 processor has 3.6 ghz of clock speed with 800mhz of fsb
