yeah i think gibson bought over epiphone their rival in the past and made it shittier. kind of like burning the epiphone village and salting the land. 1st they make epi les pauls which is a gibson trademark, and and then make them in china, so now when epiphone is compaired to gibson theres a huge quality gap.its almost racist how a asian made guitar thats the exact same is inferior to a american made but whatever. i just got a epi LP custom, like david said you get what you pay for.

lol i was just watching tis and all of the sudden he pulls out a fuckin gibson les paul and im like did he just pull that fuckin guitar outta his ass? then my friend is like that's impossible! then i go watch so i rewind it and he's like HOLY SHIT HE'S THE FUCKIN GUITAR WIZARD THAT PULLS GUITARS OUTTA HIS ASS as loud as he can in my house at 2:00 am in the morning scared the livin shit outta my parents

You're right- Epi should ship the guitars with the pickguard seperate, like Gibson does. You can always take it off, but that leaves you with the holes. They ship the Slash LP with the pickguard seperate, so we'll see if this becomes a regular thing.

I was where you are a few months ago and took the plunge with an epi les paul standard. Very nice, sound, and I can't get my pinch harmonics to work yet, but im an amateur. Its heavy but it really rocks. I got a line 6 spider III 30 and its a great combo. When he talks of the cheap ones its the "special" - the one for $200, Im sure.
