i have to say that when my theatre group performed this -at the end of the day was my fav to do!! check out Acts Theatre School.

I agree! You can tell the Foreman is hurt by Fantine's secret. I think he sends her away, because he can't have Fantine. So, to end his own pain, he gets rid of her. All because he feels betrayed. IDA, brilliant acting in this scene!

The foreman and fantine have a very well developed relationship on stage. That is good acting.

Valjean in the Soliloquy reminds me of the line from "Phantom of the Opera" about Carlotta's acting: "[her] normal trick of strutting 'round the stage". Otherwise, it's a great performance. I'm really glad he didn't tear up the passport-jaune in time with the music, which so many Valjean's do...it looks so tacky...
