Music video, set to the excellent 1982 track "Hey Little Girl" by Australian band Icehouse. I'd been looking for a while to do a video specifically for a song (any bands reading this wanting a video, let me know!), rather than just editing footage to music at a later date, and the words for HLG started to suggest the story you find here.In a nutshell it's how a girl has her femininity stolen from her by the murder of her parents, how this subverts many of the icons of being a woman for her, and how she only frees herself by becoming her enemy. However, you could argue that although she's regained her life, she's lost her childhood, so it's not necessarily a happy ending...I storyboarded the whole video, then created an animatic to make sure it worked. Then we filmed almost all the footage on Thursday 1st March with Becky Speed, with some pickups with the henchmen actors on 4th March. Editing took about 2 days all in all, including faking up newspapers, photos and the FX with the "ghost bullets". It was filmed with a Panasonic GS500, edited with Ulead's VideoEditor, with graphics work done in Photoshop.Guns and girls fans, make the most of this as it's probably the last thing I'll do that appeals directly to the G&G crowd. There's other things to do, and at the moment I've run out of money anyway!I would dedicate this to my Grandma who died in February, but she probably wouldn't appreciate the gesture. The last video I did with Becky in a "female assassin" mode was called The Infiltrator, and was recorded exclusively for her new website so will appear then when it launches. I'm hoping to post a trailer here when it goes up.

AHHH. I think I get it now. You would be saying that a male may seek for revenge on someone for the loss of his parents where as a female would find it just as distressing, but may not result to violence as easily as a male may and be more "lady like." Thankyou!! Are there any more vids like this in the pipeline with Becky? She is a good actress!!

It's a good point at how different the video would be with a male protagonist. Without dialogue it would be a lot harder to show the change effected on a person when they don't lose anything that so obviously defines them: whereas here the loss of femininity is an easy way to show the massive change brought about on a person by loss and grief.

Great video, but I just don't understand the bit about "how a girl has her femininity stolen from her by the murder of her parents," in the description. Why her femininity? Obviously her heart being destroyed and her soul being torn apart but why her femininity? Would of made a difference if she was a boy? Apart from that a great vid!!
