Josh Klinghoffer. He's a good friend of John's, and he plays drums (as well as many other instruments) on John's solo albums. He's only played with RHCP for the last half of the SA tour i believe. He is actually a very talented musician.

That is a les paul not just a les paul type guitar. Les Paul's tend to get a thicker sound imo which would be a solid choice for this song. I saw Josh floppin around in the back round there thats always nice to see. Keep on rockin Chili's!

its so unusual for frusciante to have that kind of guitar. im not saying it as a bad thing. but he doesn't usually go for the 'les paul' type guitars. usually the fender strat or tele
