I agree it was rather shit, it doesn't even sound like a drum solo more like he was just bashing the shit out of anything.. but if you look there are vids of him doing proper drum solos.

Who cares what you think? Drummers like Ian Paice, Neil Peart, Jeff Porcaro, Bernie Dresel, Roger Taylor, and many other musicians, not just drummers, have expressed their admiration for him, and his skill at drumming. However, I wouldn't expect someone who listens to the drum solo's in your favorites, to understand anything about real drumming technique and skill.
