Second Life is not a game, it's a platform you can use for playing, education, or business.You don't have to spend any money on it, since you can equip your Avatar with freebies and things you build yourself. You can also earn Linden dollars inworld by selling what you make, working (f.e. as dj in a club), or camping.Many people spend real money on it however, to buy/rent land, keep businesses, buy nice expensive stuff for their land, employ other Avatars, and so on.
