This song is essentially a ripoff of VU's Sister Ray (Jonathan's heroes), but still it has a much better groove and the rest of this album kicks major ass. The keyboardinst later went to form the Talking Heads, the drummer, the Cars...

This song was on the pictured 1976 album by the Modern Lovers, and written by Jonathan Richman (right). But, and read carefully, this song was recorded in 1971!!!! Way the fuck ahead of it's time. Listen to The Sex Pistols "EMI" and what do you think that was inspired by? A progenitor of punk. recorded by ex- VU member, even. Jerry Harrison wmnt on to play in the Talking Heads, and david Robinson went onto be the drummer for The Cars. Neither of those bands were as groundbreaking as The ML's.
