Hehe, the Yith sounds just like JEREMY IRONS, I guess its a standard voice for intelectual aliens :P

He went to the asylum after this last case, and he hung himself because he was terrified of what he was (not exactly human but not yithian either), and because he knows that the seabed is crawling with deep ones, and the flying polyps (the creatures that wiped out the yith) are still alive.

dagon and hydra were very ancient deep ones that got large, they can be killed, these 2 deep ones are worshiped by lesser deep ones and in turn they worship cthulhu.

I don't think you actually kill Dagon from what I played. He doesn't seem like the sort that would let a little thing like being shot in the face with a cannon take him down. The way I interpreted it, you just shot him enough times that he got sick of clawing at you, and just decided to capsize the boat.As for Hydra, I'm pretty sure that that was an avatar. From the way I understand how the RPG works, it's damned unlikely for players to permanently kill any of the mythos gods.

Ok , I dont really get what happened there at the end , I mean ,I played the game ,but I cant understand why would he hang him self or even if that last part with the suicide attempt was a memory of his when he was at the madhouse or did he got back to the madhouse after this last case, which woundnt surprise me considering what he went through, still a little too open ended and brief on the explanation 'why so?'for my taste.

So jack walters is a yithian?

Lovecraft's so damned awesome! Though the Call of Cthulhu sorta annoyed. You know how it implied that the main character was going to be killed like the Sailor that discovered R'lyeh and his uncle, but it never really says on way or another wether he dies. I guess you have to just think that he was killed by the mysterious Sailors :/

dude :) this game (call of cthulhu DCOTE) cought my fascination for lovecraftian eldritch horror, what makes lovecraft brilliant is the gory details in some of his stories and the fact that most of them don't always have a happy ending, the main carachters often lose their minds just like jack :)

Deduct the 'Haven't' from the first sentence.

I haven't don't think I've read as much as you. *Bows to Tzepest20* You are God of Lovecraft knowledge! I've only read Call of Cthulhu and a few shorter stories on the Old Ones and Deep Ones |
