When the SNES came out, one of the launch titles that immediately got my attention was R-Type. But not just R-Type, it was a Super R-Type! A remake/remix of the original arcade version, with loads of extras, exclusive to the Super Nintendo. Even if I had played the Arcade and amiga versions, when I got this one, it stayed in the SNES cartridge slot for a long, long time. This is me having some nostalgic fun on levels 1 and 2.

When this came out, these were by far the most amazing music tracks/sfx I had ever heard in a game before!Everyone talks about how superior the arcade versions were ('avoid Super R-Type!'); but when I finally played them sometime later, the dramatic difference in the audio made the experience rather underwhelming. :P

Get a arcade emulator and get the R-Type games from the arcade. Get this also ( its for the snes. Get R-Type III for SNES. Get R-TYPE DX for the gameboy color. Do you have a PS1? then get R-Type for the PS1? Then get R-Type Delta for the PS1 |
