at the Intel Developer Forum today, Intel CTO Justin Rattner showed off a research project from his labs that powers electronics wirelessly. The big idea is to someday cut the last cord in laptops!

apparently tesla came up with this a hundred years ago but the US govt. shut his power station down because they were worried that they couldnt meter it.

I saw this at a video of MIT but it said it's not efficient. Is this more efficient than the MIT original expiriment? (how much efficiency) and does the voltage/power vary with distance? |
