American Underground¡murmur tremendo disco de los REM

All these bands from Georgia--REM, Black Crows, Collective Soul--record a great first song, then go to New York or someplace, and are never the same again. I guess REM went on to bigger things--don't know, don't care; But, THIS IS A GREAT SONG.

What are you? Some kind of idiot? Only mainstream rock? Alt Rock grew out of punk rock. That was the inspiration. To say at any given time that there was one kind of music genre is completely stupid. Do a bit of research before making a fool of yourself. Idiot!!!

I love how on every single you tube video of early R.E.M there's at least one comment saying 'Michael Stipe had hair!' :D I literally never get tired of this song, good stuff.

Wow, I can't belive that Michael Stipe actually had hair like that, now he's a total chrome dome!

I thought "Automatic for the People" was their best album

Vh1 Classic! What a hoot. You couldn't even see or hear these guys on MTV in 1981.College Radio was the ONLY place to hear Chronic Town or Murmur.

hell yeah its probably their best album since 'monster'
ffm20zaheri (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
indeed it did .... because in that time there were only mainstream rock musicians like van halen and many more but then there came a crazy thing called alternative rock :-)

This song changed American rock...
