In this interview for Access Hollywood, Hayden Panettiere explains how she joined a group of peaceful protestors at sea in an effort to save a group of pilot whales (which are part of the dolphin family) and faced violent opposition from a group of Japanese fishermen (Aired on Access Hollywood November 2nd, 2007).

I cried while watching this :/ This video had a great impact on me because I had always aspired to be marin biologist - all the tears could not save the beautiful creatures. we must do something else.

pigs are as loving and as smart as dogs according to the people that keep them as pets and yet people eat them. Why the hell is it that humans can only feel compassion for the animals that they identify with. If you fight for dolphins but don't fight for pigs or cows, that doesn't make any sense.

so what if one animal is smarter than another, it doesn't make one animal more valuable than the other. Most people are pretty apathetic when it comes to the animals we are used to eating, but try raising a baby cow and grow to love her and see if it doesn't change your mind about cows. They are mammals just like us and thus have feelings like us (though they can't think like we do).

Stop all the racism already! Panettiere is a very brave person. I agree wholeheartedly with Hayden that this is cruel and something needs to be done, BUT I'm sure she is doing this to save the dolphins and NOT to persecute all the Japanese people.This protest is for animal rights only. (continued)
