Reminds me of the scene in "Black Board" jungle where teacher says the whites can call each other Mick but would get mad if the black guy said it, and so on. He was saying that those words shouldn't be used at all because they can cause trouble. The white girl makes the same point and its a good one.

I think some white people, (like the girl talking and crying is)are just trying to get over racism and that whole I can do it but you can't, she can it but he can't to stop to creata a unity in races in America, otherwise there's always a division and racism sticking around, I think that's why she was crying cause she thought they were her friends no matter what race.

People need to understand in-group and out-group behavior. People other than black people can use this word. If a non-black is in a group of blacks and they allow he/she to use it, then fine. But people need to understand the social history behind the word. Saying that word with a different group of black people, one could get a beat down bc it may not be acceptable for them to hear that coming from a non-black, even it is said with no ill-intention. So others can do it, but at their own risk.
