Of Greyby MonkeesWhen the world and I were young, just yesterdayLife was such a simple game a child could playIt was easy then to tell right from wrongEasy then to tell weak from strongWhen a man should stand and fightOr just go alongBut today, there is no day or nightToday, there is no dark or lightToday, there is no black or whiteOnly shades of grayI remember when the answer seemed so clearWe had never lived with doubt, or tasted fearIt was easy then to tell truth from liesSelling out from compromiseWho to love and who to hateThe foolish from the wiseBut today, there is no day or nightToday, there is no dark or lightToday, there is no black or whiteOnly shades of grayIt was easy then to know what was fairWhen to keep and when to shareHow much to protect your heartAnd how much to careBut today, there is no day or nightToday, there is no dark or lightToday, there is no black or whiteOnly shades of grayOnly shades of gray...

So, who really wrote this song?
rustino08 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
Oh the Monkees... inspiration to a generation! When you hear their greatest hits... man they pumped out sooo many hits in such a brief period! 1966 to 68 effectively. This was such a nice presentation to one of their many great songs. My compliments to the chef!
