Stephen, I'm sorry to offend you. Meditation takes many outward forms but essentially it is observing WHAT IS. This isthe greatest miracle. To SEE it is the greatest miracle. The miracle is always now so you always have it there waiting only for you to see it again and again and maybe constantly.

I'm not looking for anything. Life is as it is , I am as I am ..we are as we are.

Im done talking with you, I think that is the second time you have totally avoided the questin i asked. If you would stil like to tell me what kind of meditation you have done and the benefits you have experienced i would like to hear it, but if you don't want to talk about anything personal, only vague concepts about Tolle that have nothing to do with your life, im done. I think its obvious to you im a Christian and you are not interested in talking to a Christian about these deep isues on life

haha, ok... Jesus did come back from the dead, but regardless im goina stop responding, I hope you find what your looking for. Peace.

BRICK-There is a conflict between What Mr. Tolle says and what you believe to be the REAL DEAL. Your refusal to under-tand what he's saying serves to protect your IDEAS. "Sacred"ideas. Who are you without your "sacred" ideas?

Hi Stephen...I know little of God but have experienced an overwhelming feeling of love and devotion ..perfect peace and contentment. As to afterlife , no one has ever come back to tell us . All the eschatology is conceptual. If you want a belief system which gives you comfort then self exploration may not be for you, try one of the mainstream religions..they'll sell you an insurance policy ( that is unlikely to pay out ). Peace.

have you done much meditation?
StephenBRICK (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
what is your relationship with God then? I feel like there is still something missing, there is something more to it than simply focusing on breathing, what are the implications of attaining enlightenment for your daily life, does it include implications of afterlife or your growth as a person or anything outside of who you are right now?

Is it possible to describe the taste of honey or the experience of having a child? We can try but it's not really posssible. Buddha said that anyone who spent a whole day being aware of every breath would easily attain enlightenment. The life breath contains primal energy which feeds the flame of life within us. Some have said that love is God's life breath within us. There is nothing more essential to us yet do we ever take a moment to appreciate it?

BRICK-I think the reason we have senses is so we can sense. That's called experience. If you pay attention to what the senses are sensing at the moment they are sensing, if you payCLOSE attention and ignore the mental noise/chatter, that is MEDITATION.
