start off PAINFULLY slow to a metronome and work your way up slowly to a faster tempo. make sure that your hand is really relaxed so that you're not so much plucking each string, but keep it as a smooth "falling" motion. It's will suck balls at first, but the end result is extremely rewarding.

simple. get the sweep arpeggio. you have to do it on two octives. "sweep" the notes to get the sweep
