Lee Hazlewood - Nancy Sinatra, Some Velvet Morning, NBC television special "Movin' With Nancy" in 1967. Lee Hazlewood's passing made me think of the "Some Velvet Morning" recording, It's a strange eerie tune Lee wrote in the mid to late 60's and recorded with Nancy Sinatra, anyway, here's the video, I wanted to share it.

That's how I found about it. I'm glad I did too!

Art Bell played this for years on his radio show (Coast to Coast)....Bell actually had Nancy on as guest once to talk about it.... George Noory is playing it occasionally now, but not as often...very trippy and groovy

Hubertblues, Would you have a copy of the entire 1967 TV program called "Movin' with Nancy"? If so, can I ask you something about it?During this show, does Nancy Sinatra make any reference to someone named "Vilis"?If so, he would be her cameraman, Vilis Lapenieks. Does she refer to him or perhaps even show him on camera during her show, "Movin' with Nancy"?Need to find this out for a friend, thanks. Hope you don't mind.

Yes, Phaedra, this is truly an unforgettable song, even, dare I say, etheral and otherworldly.Your mother made the right choice in both songs and names.

Dreamy and Mythological song. Wish I wrote this. No doubt Lee is straight.

"Thanks for this HubertBlues! I havent seen or heard this for Decades! I've just subscribed to your channel as well because you have great taste in Blues which I also love greatly. Lee HazleWoods voice has always affected me 'metaphysically and emotionally'.It's probably because his voice 'stood Out' from 'everyone elses voice' during the late 1960's and early seventies. It's the kind of vocals you never can forget. Still unique allthese years later."Thanks, from New Zealand. |
