American humor is very different to British humor: British humor is much more complex than American humor (for example using a play on words). Brits are also the first to take the piss out of their own country, government and traditions whereas Americans tend to get very deffensive about there own traditions, government and country. Irony is also something Americans have difficulty with.

Please, don't let the one idiot be your opinion of all americans. I'm american, and I LOVE bill bailey. I love Black Books, I love Dylan Moran, I love nevermind the buzzcocks. Seriously, all the really good comedy and humor is from Europe. America has it's good points, but nothing compared to Europe and the likes of Bill.
