The officer's conduct has been called into question after a videotape of the incident was posted on YouTube. The video, taken from a Utah Highway Patrol dashboard camera, shows Trooper John Gardner using a Taser on Jared Massey during a traffic stop on State Road 40 in Uintah County on Sept. 14.2007 In the nearly 10-minute video, Gardner is seen pulling Massey over for speeding. When Massey refuses to sign the citation, Gardner asks him to exit the vehicle, and things quickly escalate as the motorist points toward the speed limit sign.

Well I see there are alot of idiots out there! The officer had the damn right to use the tazer in this dumbass! He would not follow instructions and was going back to the car for what? to flee?to get a gun? Who knows but he got what he had coming! I dont see that this officer had any choice!

BitzFit,your comments resemble that of an ignoramus. They have no bearing to this particular situation and appear to be rather senseless. You and a few others here are now able to not only ignoramuses but rather "big mouth loosers"

In the video, he went by a 40mph sign, yet he says he didn't know what the speed limit was. The officer issued a ticket, he refused to sign it, and went back towards the vehicle, and was by definition "resisting".Several really bad scenarios come to mind if this "dip-shit" makes it back to his vehicle. Sign the ticket (it's NOT an admission of guilt), fight it in court, or pay the fine.I say find him, and taser him again...

That seemed awful. The family seemed terrorized.

This is messed up. Like the kid that was tasered for asking John Kerry a question. I hope when the dollar is worth less than dirt people finally learn that people are worth more than money.

Who knows what would have happened if the tazer alternative wasn't there. a physical struggle followed by someone getting shot. At least that guy gets to breath again.

The sad thing is that this cop got off scott free.Yes thousands of people called his superiors and complained over this civil rights violation. But this cop still gets paid to intimidate and harass the people that he is sworn to protect and serve. This guys should have his badge stripped, and should be publicly flogged for betraying his oath to the people!I have personally wrote his superiors, and I will continue to voice my opinion until they fire his ass!
