Not really.When you delete a file (like dragging it to the recycle bin and deleting it) Windows just marks the hard drive space as unused.Erased files are overwritten many times until the data can no longer be recovered.

It wont make your PC faster.Deleting, marks that section of your hard drive as "Empty" so that it can be used later to store something else, it doesn't take off the data, an un-deleter can see what is actually thereErasing, means over-writing useless data onto that section and then marking it as empty(even tho, technically it still is not empty) so that if an un-deleter is used, it will only see that useless data

i have never got a straight answer, i use ccleaner and i wanted to know if i have already "deleted" a file and i use the cleaner will it "erase" that previously deleted file? (plz rply)

Sorry... I don't speak monkey...Anyway... What the guy is trying to say is that:Deleting - Only hides files (Ex: Empty recycle bin)Erasing - PERMANENTLY erasing the files from your hard drive without any trace (It makes your PC faster by doing so.)
