I'll never forget when I saw him play him at the Gosport festival. I was the first person in the queue to go in and heard all this noise behind me. I looked round and I was face to face with him. I said fuck me its John Martyn...He replied no thanks but cheers for the offer. Then he walked over to the pub brought a crate of beer, set it on the stage, cracked open a can and then started playing...A fucking legend!
