Here is a rousing musical number from the Filipino motion picture "Waray Waray" (LVN Films 1954). Nestor de Villa plays Delfin, a women's wear salesman who falls in Love with feisty "waray" Upeng (Nida Blanca). The Nida-Nestor tandem was one of the most successful Love teams in Philippine cinema in the 1950s. Also in the clips are Leroy Salvador and Lorna Mirasol.

Wow! Nida was already a good dancer during that time. I think she was just 18yo in this movie. I saw this movie on tv. I also saw her other movies like "Batanguenya", "Kastilaloy", "Luneta", "Ganyan Ka Pala".

Haven't you noticed? During the 50's, it was very obvious and evident in the movies in those days that actors and actresses wore the Philippine national costume. They were nationalistic. Their bodies were so covered. When late 60s and early 70s came, actors and actresses no longer wore anything due to BOMBA films!

I would love to see Angel Locsin in a dress like that! :)
