Having thwarted the Germans at Bastogne, the exhausted Easy Co. must now take the nearby town of Foy from the enemy. Several are killed and wounded in fierce shelling compounded by the incompetence of their commander, Lt Dike, about whom Winters can do nothing. Easy takes For, but at an enormous cost.

one of the veterans, Mike Ranney recalled an incident in the book which this series is based on: "Im treasuring a remark which a grandson made, He asked 'grandpa, were you a hero in the war?'No' Mike Ranney replied 'but I served in a company of heroes'"

i would of just taken the ammo out and held it somewhere else. Knowing me, I would be messing with the Luger and accidently shot myself like him. In the book it says he was messin with it and it went off.

He died because that shot on his leg caused him to lose too much blood.
