Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the WiiRemote

Using the infrared camera in the Wii remote and a head mounted sensor bar (two IR LEDs), you can accurately track the location of your head and render view dependent images on the screen. This effectively transforms your display into a portal to a virtual environment. The display properly reacts to head and body movement as if it were a real window creating a realistic illusion of depth and space. By Johnny Chung Lee, Carnegie Mellon University. A lot of people seem to misunderstand something about this technique. Most importaintly; theres a difference between the one eye of a camera and the two of a human being. You will still see a flat screen except it now changes accordingly to your head's position. Combine this with a good stereographic technique and then it will truly be like a window to another world.Besides, nintendo won't use this since although it's a sweet gadget, americans will sue them for stiff necks.

"i wanna see some games" xD!

This is insane. Seriously, I don't see why Nintendo don't appreciate homebrew, this is the one feature that will knock Sony, MS, you name it, totally over. Imagine this in a FPS, that would be a killer. Seriously, contact Nintendo, because this is insane.

Best line, and you sound totally different when you say it, "So if you're watching this and you're a Nintendo Wii game developer... I wanna see some games!"
