it became free the day the legendary map pack came out.

you have to wait until the mythic map pack comes out. and yes there is a mythic. it's after legendary, and yes even though it's not an "real" difficulty setting, it's still one level harded from legendary...and there will be a mythic map pack sometime between august and september

I'm not getting my hopes up because i already bought the maps. And I'm 99.99% sure that Bungie will continue to make more maps, and then the Legendary pack will be free. The next map pack will probably be called mythic.
