u cant say that skills>size or size>skills. there will allways be examples that proves either statement wrong (like ernosto vs hoost, fedor vs choi) both is important

so on my wrestling team, i have a 120 pound wrestler. He man handles our HW (260pounds) routinly. Size is an advantage, but technique beats size. I outstruck a guuy who had 40 pounds on me.

thats crap, big is an advantage but skills over ride size when theres enough. i cant believe you posted that comment on a fight of fedor wiping out another dude clearly bigger and heavier than him

i think the quote is more true in boxing or kickboxing than it is in MMA
MadLip78 (September 26, 2008 at 11:46 pm)
Tell that to Ernesto Hoost who lost to Bob Sapp. Man, I've been a fight fan for years. Before MMA came out. I've watched all the classic boxing matchups and fights over the years. I've already given you that quote that has applied to years of experienced trainers and fighters, "A good bigger man always beats a better small man." Nowadays in MMA, it's a level playing field. So 99% of the time, Hughes will lose against a heavy with a .500 record.

like i said thanks for bein in the armed services i respect you for that. im not a liberal quite far from it. but just cause i respect your service doesnt mean i respect that youre a prick who gets his jollies off of picking fights on youtube. thats keyboard warrior shit. dont get on here thinking you know who i am and making up bs thats dumb dumb shit. grow up...
joeberger (September 20, 2008 at 1:26 am)
Hughes weighed the same as Royce did. it was a matter of talent. NOT weight. you're right about Royce beating guys in a time when nobody knew shit about jiu jitsu but that doens't make that quote true. technique, and applied strenghth will always win over a weight advantage.
joeberger (September 20, 2008 at 1:22 am)
you talk like a fuckin liberal and i'm about to deploy to Al Assad, Iraq. GO TRY AND DOUBT ME!! A LIBERAL WOULD! you're the keyboard warrior who can't even respect Fedor's opponets. Fedor is the best fighter in the world. if you don't respect his opponets...you don't respect him. dumb fuck
MadLip78 (September 20, 2008 at 12:06 am)
It's not my quote dumbfuck. It's been around for years. And while there are exceptions, it usually is the truth. Gracie dominated in an era where people didn't know shit on the ground. He beat people like Severn and Kimo who outweighed him significantly, but when he matches up with Hughes he gets creamed?! No response? WTF are you talking about. There is no weight limit in heavy. So you can have Bob Sapp outweighing people by 100 lbs dumb fuck. That's unheard of in the lower divisions.

Man, you are stupid. Count your posts then mine. And the time frame doesn't matter. If I post once everyday, and you post 50 times over 2, who has more posts? Besides, I only come on here on the weekends. |
