In the mid last century, when a Hungarian gypsy violist heard Menuhin said: nice, nice but he would die at the table. He referred to his stiff, aristocratic stature, which a less aristocratic audience of a restaurant could not enjoy. Of course, Menuhin's mission was not to entertain restaurant audience, but Brahms csardas like piece may need more temper and vigour.
