All great musicians stand on the backs of giants that preceeded them . The first true 'Superstar' that moved individual singers away from the 'minstril' performances was the great 'Al Jolson' :watch?v=md4_ywlw2aI followed in quick succession by Eddie Cantor , Sinatra , Presley , Lennon ect. ect. and many more unmentioned . Is there any info. on who influenced/inspired Neil Young's amazing songwriting/singing ability ?

Na not really, I cut down Oak Trees to put in my fireplace, salvage the embers, and mix it with PT. Nitrate and sulphur to make gun powder. Im fine not hugging trees.
