And yes, some people, like me, care about the complexity of the music composition. I myself compose progressive metal, there's some stuff on my YouTube account.Of course only making fucked up time signatures and tempo changes doesn't make music better by itself, but DT manage to join both that and awesome music. And if you don't like this, check out some of their older stuff like Images and Words. Or then Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence or Octavarium. You may like that better.

Dude everyone has different musical tastes. Dream Theater is my favorite band, and I love Metallica and Megadeth and GnR. Besides, before starting to listen to DT I practically only listened to Metallica and not alot more. I agree with SaphirreDragon, you can't just stick to the same things.One can't really say which band is the BEST, only the band they one prefers. I do say though that, for me, Dream Theater is the best band ever.
