The noise is from the building's smoke alarms.

I hope you're okay. Do you rent, or do you own? I do hope it's a rental for you, so that the financial burden is lessened.

Ah, what's that annoying noise? D:The ringing? It makes me want to remove my ear drums. Anyway, it's scary, to see what wind can actually do. I hope the building can be restored somehow, it's always sad when a piece of history is destroyed. Especially since it doubled as homes as well.

When I lived 2 blocks from here on greenwood, I remember that they removed the tornado sirens and sold them to Marietta, I believe. I thought "good god why would they do that." When I asked, someone said that some politician was making a personal profit off of it. I felt vulnerable being from tornado alley in Missouri, but everyone said there were no tornados in Atlanta. I said of course there could be...

To my knowledge, there are not sirens. The area was not prepared for a tornado, so the intensity of the storm took everyone by surprise.

Hi Bradley,Does this area - did they have sirens to warn them to get down, somewhere? I don't think this old brick building would have 'storm cellars' type of safety feature... do y7ou know if everyone got out OK?Thank you for recording this for us.I'll take a so Cal earthquake any day over tornadoes. *_* |
