I knew a guy who followed the life style of every religion for one month each. Every month he would switch and follow and read the texts as best as he could. It was hard, he was, and is, as atheist. When I asked him what he thought he said:"I realized that even though atheism is right, it leaves a kind of vacuum. Science has its creation story but it needs something to hope for too. I think the hope is in reason and knowledge, but this is not something a child can warm up to."This is a problem

Oops wrote before I found out that Richard Dawkins actually takes part in this debate. Sorry. But I think it only further solidifies my statement about Richard Dawkins, and Sam Harris responds correctly to one of the better (if not great) arguments honed towards atheism.

Wow, Richard Dawkins in the front row! I highly admire his dedication to the Atheist cause. You can see him in loads of places where atheism is being encouraged. I like this because it shows he didn't write the God Delusion exclusively to cause a stir and earn some cash...

Scott Atran: "You can't trust your own intuition on how the world is ..."I have to agree with Atran on this. There is this look on people's faces, during Atran's speech, of surprise and perhaps betrayal. Did this conference become too much of an Atheist back-slapping event devoid of evidence? Atram is a useful, if not irritating, alarm.

I would have liked to see Sam responding to Scotts“ claims about moral science. He had an entire chapter about it in "The end of faith", in which he ranted almost brutally against non-cognitivism, relativism and pragmatism.
