This conversation sounds a lot like an infomercial, and the fact that they're not letting out any real details gives it the feeling of some shady network-marketing / MLM / Amway BS. Even though the details sound similar to local currency regimes (Ithaca Hours etc) the emphasis seems to be on how to make a big pile of money, and that flies in the face of what most local currency systems are about. What the hell do I know though? Look it up yourself.

well, we're also the leading reserve currency for central banks, but if the dollar seems unstable they'll dump their reserves. They already are, so they can switch to the euro, they're just doing ti slowly so a sudden fall in value doesn't result in a run before they can finish.

Our dollar does have backing. It's called the petro dollar. It is backed by oil. As long as countries can only trade oil for dollars, the dollar will have worth. As soon as countries like Iran come off the oil/dollar exchange the dollar will depreciate very quickly.
