I don't see what all the need is to "crack down on employers" who hire illegals. Sure, you can argue that it's "slave labor" because they're paid very low wages and so on, but if a guy wants to be paid low wages to get a job, and an employer agrees, who am I to argue? It's much ado about nothing, like I said. There are only 12-20 million illegals, a very small fraction of all U.S. citizens. It's not that big a deal. Get over it and let them become citizens and move on with your lives.

Illegal aliens come here to work, not mooch off the taxpayers. Besides, illegal aliens CAN'T get welfare benefits!! Show me all these illegals who are mooching off the taxpayer with fake identification and documents up the wazoo. It's just not true.Sure, some use false SS numbers, but no one else owns those numbers, and they're not citizens, so they will never receive SS dollars. Plus, as long as employees are law-abiding, who gives a shit who an employer hires?

To be honest, I'm all for amnesty for illegals who have been here for years, esp. 10 or 20 years. They haven't committed crimes, and they're productive members of society. Why not have them come out of the shadows and welcome them as patriotic Americans? Instead, the fearmongering anti-illegal douchebags like Tom Tancredo are so extreme they want only deportation and border security.Border security is a must, but we must also have a sensible immigration policy.

I used to think like Tancredo on the illegal immigration issue, but now I realize it's not that big a deal. It's much ado about nothing. The fact is, most illegal aliens are hard-working, law-abiding people! Only a small fraction come to screw things up and commit crimes or join groups like La Raza and call for insurrection or want to "take it back for Mexico." A lot of stuff peddled about illegal aliens being a drain on the system is just false. Immigrants use welfare at a lower rate.
