There is only 'one ' Islam, not many. Islam does not need any reforms.Ayaan is not a muslim scholar, and not an intellectual , why the Americans are asking her 'views' on Islam, this is just ridiculous.

True, she lied, but so do many many refugees seeking asylum. In any case she had a legitimate reason: being forced into a strict Islamic marriage is institutionalized rape and servitude. This should be a legal reason for getting asylum. The only reason it's not is that there are too many women in that situation! She's a big deal because she has unusual independence of mind and courage to reject the bullshit ideas she was force-fed her whole life about religion, woman's place, etc.
