Chicago- It Better End Soon

This was filmed "live" at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA on July 21, 1970."It Better End Soon" was written by Robert Lamm, Terry Kath & Walt Parazaider (flute solo ONLY). This song was written in response to the ongoing war in Vietnam. Terry Kath's vocals (the "preach") changed nightly. There's quite a bit of ad-lib. Not to mention, that his guitar solo also changed nightly. It was a different time and these guys didn't feel like they were stuck in a box or that every moment of their performance had to be well thought out, preconceived and totally choreographed. Enjoy!

its a shame there is a lapse at 2.30 in Terrys solo. the solo from the live album(70) is prob one of the best solos ever made along with South California purples. Terry was a god to me for so many years. these times my god is Joe Satriani.thank u for posting chikagokid.

Soul like Terry's can never die. Somewhere that soul HAS to still be playin'. And I hope when I get there I can get front row tickets!

I watched the DVD of Chicago / Earth, Wind, & Fire at the Greek Theatre. Walt did a long a fast flute solo. I don't know what happened, but he could get it to play. I could tell he was getting frustrated by his yells between breaths. I'm not knocking him though. I tried the flute. I couldn't even get one note out of it. Blowing into it just right is quite the battle.

I saw them hundreds of times in more than 20 States. The tour of 75 with the Beach Boys was un-friggin believable. At Aneheim stadium the crowd was so into the show they actually stopped the concert and said the stadium was becoming un safe because of all the bouncing in the upper decks. The next day it was on all the newscasts. Ahh yes, those were the good old days.

Kath, like all the greats such as Stevie Ray and Jimi was "channeling" something through him. Amazing expressiveness, soul, conviction a joy to listen to and, thanks to this incredible video, watch.
