Maria Callas was born in New York City in 1923 to Greek parents. The uniqueness of her angelic voice and her unmatched artistry of interpreting operatic music are the reasons why she was an opera superstar. Ms. Callas passed away in 1977. The soundtrack is "Suicidio!" from "La Gioconda" by Amilcare Ponchielli.

Η μοναδική αυτή φωνή (ακούστε πού κατεβαίνει στο 2.18 + 4.11) συνδύαζε και την μοναδική εκφραστικότητα. Το φαινόμενο Μαρία Κάλλας θα είναι πάντα συνώνυμο της όπερας. Η μία ήταν φτιαγμένη για την άλλη.

Absolutely amazing! She could sing soprano, mezzo and contralto. An unbelievable voice. Yes, Pavarotti was right: There will be also in future great sopranos, but not a single Callas.
