From what I understand (from interviews), the Scorpions were going to give the younger bands a chance to take the reins...Well, most of the younger bands sucked and had little talent, so the Scorps came back onto the scene.

Different era and lead guitar player, I appreciate them both.Scorps made excellent albums with Jabs. Lovedrive,Animal Magnetism,Blackout, and Love at First Sting are great. Although I prefer the 1st 3 I mentioned first. But if I had to pick between the music with Roth and Jabs. Yes I would pick the music with Roth. Roth and Michael Schenker are 2 of my favorites all time. Both made 2 of the best live albums ever. Tokyo Tapes and Strangers in the Night.

the scorpions 70's is the best, those were truly the golden years of thier music, i persionally think "rock you liek a hurricane" is a boring, stupid song, they have so many better songs

Yes, but you miss a great deal of the Scorps in the 70's if you have never heard or been into Uli Roth and Michael Schenker in the band. Michael Schenker was only on the 1st album in 72 and a few songs from Lovedrive but it is very important. Check it out, you will be enlightened.

I didn't know the Scorpions were that popular in the 70's.I didn't know of the Scorpions until 1984 when "Love at First Sting" came out.I still think the 80's were the peak of their popularity.Their music videos on MTV and the hair band movement really farthered their career.
