Also, to Boot4life. What station served "Little Tokyo" in the old days? Is it still in operation and if not is the building still standing? I'd like to see a picture of it. Besides liking classical architecture and history, I need a picture of it for an anime fan art project. Oh, I nearly forgot to ask you if it's true about there being a Crown Fire Engine Museum, somewhere down in L.A. I was told by a local Tracy Fire Captain. That they bought our beauty of a '67 open cab Crown Snorkel.

To Boot4life from narutofightindreamer, I would really appreciate seeing that. When I was a kid they were still showing those old early fifties safety films in school. I kind of miss them. I really hope someone has some good footage of old "Open Cab" engines and ladders in operation. Whether they be Crown, Van Pelt, LaFrance, Clark, Ward, or any of them. I know L.A. City was the last stand of the Open Cab fire engine. I'm hoping someone will post some old 16 mm or super 8 footage of such. Thanks

Well your in luck. I happen to have the whole video and will be posting it in pits and pieces. Have fun!!

I'd like to see that original early fifties educational film all the way through, just for shits and giggles. I'd also like to see more historical old colour footage, like what was at the end of LAFD on top of that dwelling fire, presumably at Bunker Hill. I'm an "Open Cab" Crown Fire Engine nut. If anyone could post some old footage of open cab units of any manufacturer and department in action. It would really be cool.

And i'm not a firefighter for any dept. But i know not to assume that i know a dept just by watching youtube or going out on ride alongs
RebelSoldier3 (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
Agree with you 100%There is a lot of people here acting like if they know more than this fine Firefighters.
jcreiman (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
I wouldnt go around saying they have bad ladder placement when the dept is known for is Truck ops. The only trouble they have is idiots who go around critiquing what they do.
